It actually reminds me of how many people take Caesar’s “calm, cool, collected” facade at face value without actually realizing that he’s NOT that type of person naturally, and that he is instead a passionate, reckless, and even violent person underneath that. Araki likes to have characters make claims about their own personalities that are revealed to be untrue in some capacity or another, and fandom’s tendency to flatten out characters to be nothing more than their masks can be a little frustrating (this is common in all fandoms, not just in jojo, but im in jojo so im talkin bout jojo)
