I don’t think it’s a coincidence, also that clearly is not the Red Stone of Aja, because the Red Stone of Aja has a cross in the middle and is shaped differently. Now i’m not saying that Caesar gave this to Joseph (how could he, it was given to some random girl in a restaurant), but that it’s a nice possible reference to that scene. Holly has the same red stone on her sweater when she meets Joseph at the airport as well.
